Rigid, stylistically, for him. But. It works in this rant about the futility of speaking to an audience, even an audience (audience literally means "the listener") of one, that is not paying attention.
Shouting to the Silence
shouting to the silence
forgive me if I smile, once,
then curse an oath arcane
for the splintered and the sane
who have nothing left to lose
but a path they did not choose.
shouting to the silence,
a metaphor for violence
that is underneath the skin,
reflecting pride and sin
into the core reactions -
critical mass distractions.
shouting to the silence.
souls, hearts, loins and from whence
those random thoughts occur,
breaking away to ensure
that we are well remembered
by those who have, our words heard.
