A slightly erotic metaphor, you say? Slightly erotic. Hmmm. Tough call, there...let's see, no bananas, cucumbers, peaches, velvety, silky, wet, or even...ah, hell...let's at least get the requisite reference to hard, shiny metal, shall we?
Flint for My Steel
flint for my steel
can you feel
the sparks in the dark
angels, arc and arch
like your back
point of attack
as I track your joy
in pinpricks of light breaths
gone ragged in the shuddering
uttering of pleasant profanities.
pull away far enough
and you can see the sparks
connecting us in violet seconds
that reckon our destinies
perhaps in separate spheres
but with shared tears
of every taste
to wash away memory
for as long as you dare
play flint to my steel.

Explaining the Tags
You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.
These largely fall into 4 categories:
Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
Genre, e.g. "erotica"
We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
