But I've Got You on My Mind

1 observations

Last night, the poet dreamed poetry and this lyric came to him...he swears he will still have the podcast out this morning, by noon, Eastern Time. I am...startled, but not surprised...you could hear this in his voice, his words darting between thoughts...a great something moving in the depths, seeking a window. I think it found a way to the surface. I am looking forward to the podcast.

But I've Got You on My Mind

I've got a certain yearning
to be in your arms and burning
with a fire that ignites us
and burns throughout the night

It's a need to hold you near me
and to sing and have you hear me
to disappear inside you
and to merge into your light

Sometimes I am unwanted
and by my past I'm haunted
but love is what I bring for you
in a barter for your heart

Amazing how love shows
what deep with us grows
The miracle of moments
we could never dare expect

Yes, I'm talking bout passion
and a friendship, of a fashion,
and a pride in looking up to you
with a warm and true respect

This pain is getting harder
to ignore upon my charger
The fates have not always been kind
But I've got you on my mind

But I've got you on my mind

But I've got you on my mind

I'm not living for your amusement
I'm living for your love

So he just comes up with this stuff all the time, doesn't he?

Mr. DeVault is one man who deserves every drop of happiness he can dream up!

I almost wish he weren't so TAKEN, his words certainly move me. On the other hand, I'm glad he is taken. We all get to benefit through his writing. Besides, I think being in love is good for him...I truly hope his desires are realised.

Thanks for posting this, it inspired me...

    Explaining the Tags

You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.

These largely fall into 4 categories:

    Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
    Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
    Genre, e.g. "erotica"

We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
