The Faceted Sphere: 32

0 observations

The poet has written many poems under his "faceted sphere" frame, wherein he writes of women he never has and never will be involved with, creating an alternate reality in which the romance came to fruition and reflecting on this untaken path. This particular facet concerns his Venice-era muse Alisha, also referred to as "The Truth" or "The Wisp".

The Faceted Sphere 32: Alisha

red as rubies, ripe and ready,
lips that call to taste and be tasted,
not wasted in the backwash of dreams.
bartered for fear. sold for hope.
traded for the mediocrity that
mocks Thoreau. go now and
ride the rocket past the stars
that burn brightly in the winter
night. frosty breath unwarmed
by their distant fires. flirting
with memories a millions years
old. cold to the eyes' touch.

    Explaining the Tags

You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.

These largely fall into 4 categories:

    Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
    Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
    Genre, e.g. "erotica"

We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
