the gloaming light of a mid-Spring's meander

0 observations

A curiosity of a poem, as the poet wrote it in response to some works of a friend who was writing from a very dark space for a time. Who was this individual? The poet says he does not recall, just that it was in the Spring of 2002, which means it may have been Jade Hernandez. Curious.

the gloaming light of a mid-Spring's meander

I shall not see light
in the same way,
having heard it from your lips,
falling in rainbow hues
of grey and black
and a colour not unlike red.

How sad it would have been
not to have the veils lifted
by a worthy hand.
To have missed this consolation,
this kiss of inspiration.
To have not known your soul.

Reflecting light
in a different way
than I do, though the physics
of the act of reflection
remain the same.
But still, in your shadows,
there is a different science.
And I would sit as student
while you taught me your vision.

    Explaining the Tags

You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.

These largely fall into 4 categories:

    Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
    Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
    Genre, e.g. "erotica"

We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
