He once said, cryptically, in an interview that "I have been from Jeremiah to Job and Joel and back again". One day I'll have to ask him what that means. This poem is from 2004.
And Jeremiah will not find pace
And Jeremiah will not find peace
in battles' peak or love's release.
duty sworn has worn the soles
of sandals that once blocked the coals.
And Jeremiah will not find peace.
the bitter attar, it will not cease.
the vapours in the redding light
conceal the joy of waning night.
And Jeremiah will not find peace.
there is no cure for this disease.
and even the grave is not the end
if souls still wake around the bend.

Explaining the Tags
You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.
These largely fall into 4 categories:
Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
Genre, e.g. "erotica"
We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
