This piece was written almost four years ago to "the bravest person I know, my wife, Ann". Much has passed between the poet and her since then, including a divorce and estrangement. He doesn't discuss her "on the record" anymore, but he does say, in private, that he still has nothing but affection and respect for her and all she has managed to accomplish, having dedicated reams of works to her since they parted. Losing her in his life has been a source of sorrow to him.
Thank You
it is not what I thought that was caught in the time
between words, still unheard, the absurd now made crime.
for I knew that in you what was true was still sure
and you stood for the good and you could burn me pure.
so I went and I bent the intent that was real
and I fell out the shell the unwell had me seal.
and on point, you anoint disappointment unkept,
for you've shown how you've grown and disowned mem'ries wept.
in this place no disgrace can erase these few lines...
for in light, with delight, what is right shines and shines.

Explaining the Tags
You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.
These largely fall into 4 categories:
Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
Genre, e.g. "erotica"
We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
