Shadow Children

0 observations

A difficult set of lessons for anyone with passion to learn is that people do not own other people and most obligations are things only people create out of convenience. Free will, he has said, is something God, who loves infinitely and is perfect, grants those He loves and who are we to try to deny it to others?

Shadow Children

all you have to do is ask -
with the right words -
when the sound I've heard
matches the pre-arranged signal
I will let you go.
though, in a manner slow
enough for you to realize
I would rather not.

holding fast to cast
some doubt upon my willingness
to let someone so central
to my very essence
wander away to play
where there are no legends
no real lovers or friends
just other shadow children.

    Explaining the Tags

You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.

These largely fall into 4 categories:

    Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
    Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
    Genre, e.g. "erotica"

We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
