gentle soul

0 observations

This piece was composed by the poet as he sat in Anastasia's Asylum, his favorite coffeehouse, in Santa Monica...there was a young woman sitting nearby, looking a bit vulnerable. So the poet wrote this piece, hand-copied it, then presented it to her, merely saying that it was for her and wishing her well.

Then he walked out and never looked back.

gentle soul

I see in you a gentle soul.
maybe bruised. perhaps frightened.
but brave enough to save yourself
when comes the time to take brightened
visions into the tomorrows hollowed
by those who have swallowed your tears
and only smiled. beguiled by their
own charms reflected in your soulful eyes.

    Explaining the Tags

You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.

These largely fall into 4 categories:

    Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
    Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
    Genre, e.g. "erotica"

We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
