Poetry

0 observations

I always liked this piece from 'those poems'. There was a simple honesty to it, an intimacy of the moment in which it was constructed. I have read some of her works. Not bad, but I think she is, as she discerned, a better artist than a poet. Just as the Amomancer is a better poet than an artist.

Poetry

you have the muse.
oh, sometimes you doubt it,
but when the coffee house
patrons stop stirring their
overpriced
decaf
to catch the turn
of a phrase you constructed
and brought to me like a
child
showing off a
handmade kite,
you must know
better. I have
learned from you
and your work
stands on
its own pentameters.

    Explaining the Tags

You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.

These largely fall into 4 categories:

    Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
    Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
    Genre, e.g. "erotica"

We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
