For those of you who think he is so obsessed with a woman he cannot think of anything else...
rise up
How far to the mountains? How far to the sea?
How long to the moment when we'll all be free
from hunger and battle and the evil men do?
How much longer for me? How much longer for you?
Lessons we learned didn't hang on for long.
We still suffering the tyranny of the self-serving strong.
The rich and angry, the self-righteous knaves
who break every commandment while they shout 'Jesus saves'.
It is time for the hard truths and gentle rebirth.
No more to slay brothers or to poison the earth.
No more to make sisters doubt the beauty they bring.
No more to ignore the remembering.
How long to the moment when we can rise to the task?
How long till we grow up? How long, I dare ask.
Are we damned by our madness and our short sighted goals,
or are we ready to rise up to prove we have souls?

Explaining the Tags
You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.
These largely fall into 4 categories:
Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
Genre, e.g. "erotica"
We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
