The Diamondheart Cycle: will you dance with me

0 observations

The third poem from the new cycle to the Diamondheart. He shared her picture with me yesterday. She is lovely.

will you dance with me

will you dance with me
barefoot
in fields of flowers I'd never seen
until you showed me them,
reds and golds and blues and bright vermillions
that steal my breath no less than death
or the fall I fell when I knew well
what saying my heart to you would mean.

will you dance with me
held close
so that I can feel your heart
as it echoes the thunder of my chest
pressed to your breasts to awake my passions
as if your presence alone in this world was not enough
to burn to blue and ash all other fires
all other desires I once thought I held.

    Explaining the Tags

You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.

These largely fall into 4 categories:

    Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
    Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
    Genre, e.g. "erotica"

We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
