daisies and a vase

3 observations

My first official post to this blog! And, yes, the pronunciation of "vase" in this work rhymes with "pause". I originally wrote this as a comment in Candy's "Inside Candy" blog to reflect on a gift I had sent her.

daisies and a vase

I pray that there is something
in daisies and a vase
that takes from you sad moments
and grants a pleasant pause
of thoughts and hopes and moments
that ease a little strain
of grey, grey lonely afternoons
and bleak mid-summer rains.

Welcome to your poetry blog, MFH.

Few things have touched me more than the daisies you sent, I assure you.

Thank you for being. x

Thank you for the inspiration. Daisies suit you, you know...there is always something understated but beautiful about them.

And, if you have read my poem "bare feet on a wooden floor" you will see they are a flower I associate with bliss.

    Explaining the Tags

You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.

These largely fall into 4 categories:

    Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
    Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
    Genre, e.g. "erotica"

We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
