from a height

3 observations

I am writing this live, here, this Valentine's Day. Even I do not know what I am about to say, but this will be interesting.

from a height

I have fallen before
from a height
and felt the hard, hard ground
pound the life from me
leaving only a fraction of me
to recover, in time.

But this is different.
I am not afraid
of falling from this height
as I have, for better or worse,
made wings of wax and feathers
to fly to you.

And, as with Daedalus,
I shall not fall,
for my life has shown me the path
low enough not to melt the wax
high enough to avoid the waves,
to take me where there is no need of wings.

And I wait for you...with all the patience, faith, charity, honesty and passion I can contain and express...

and 40-50% more.

    Explaining the Tags

You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.

These largely fall into 4 categories:

    Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
    Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
    Genre, e.g. "erotica"

We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
