A slice of a larger work, coming into this world today. Newborn but not firstborn.
shadowdancers (Apollo's pride)
we are shadowdancers of a species
long sought and long thought banished and vanished
from this world of brittle holography,
tricks of the light do not fool us, rule us,
for we have found and bound the truth to please
not the bleeding, needy lies that we wished
were true, to save us from philosophy
that clings and stings. esteems were ever thus.
you are beautiful and in a manner
I could not have imagined born of flesh.
you have purchased my affections in rand
of heart and kiss and touch and such is life
that I am found and bound to the pleasure
of your pure smile when it is risen fresh,
set even in contemplation unplanned,
Apollo's pride, my queen and muse and wife.

Explaining the Tags
You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.
These largely fall into 4 categories:
Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
Genre, e.g. "erotica"
We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
