this came to me in a quiet moment this morning.
I found you
I wasted years
I walked for miles
I faked more than my share of smiles
but I never lost the dream of loving you
the road was long
and twisted, too,
and sometimes took me far from hope
but I never found something that was true
until I found you
until I found you
at the end of the rope and the end of my hope
I found you
dreams may fade
and prayers go still
and hope becomes a test of will
but somewhere out there lurked the thought of you
and when I fell
and when I cried
and part of me gave up and died
I still wanted to believe that love was due
then I found you
then I found you
as proof of God, against the odds
I found you
what was never lost, the stars uncrossed
and I found you

Explaining the Tags
You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.
These largely fall into 4 categories:
Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
Genre, e.g. "erotica"
We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.

2 observations:
this piece is right up there with the best of them - i love it. i love it. i love it.
Thanks, my love, both for the kind words and for being the one I found. And who found me.
