charm and grace

0 observations

"I want peace. I want to see if somewhere there isn't something left in life of charm and grace." - Rhett Butler, Gone With the Wind

charm and grace

and what will you do when you find what is real?
will you seek your control and confess what you feel
or lay unfisted hands to accept all the demands
that will bend you, upend you and send you to grace?

and what will you find at the end of the way?
promises perishing in the bittersweet grey?
I have found what I need and for it I will bleed
if required to prove I will stand for my place.

and what will it purpose of nothing is won,
if mocking remains and the stains, the sun,
merely burns to leave scar that marks you as far
from the shores of a siren who turned from your face?

and I will tell you stories of lovers that fell,
of women and men who have battered down Hell
to seek something grander than venom and dander
and found, simply, love without the coward's disgrace.

From this day forward, I will write all things as if they were to be my last words.

I love you.

    Explaining the Tags

You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.

These largely fall into 4 categories:

    Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
    Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
    Genre, e.g. "erotica"

We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
