I just received this by email with instructions to "post immediately". He has written a mountain in the last few days, I do not know why this pieces requires posting. There are some extraordinary pieces coming, plus a complete reworking of a couple of pre-existing projects. Someone kiss him to shut him up! I hear he is calmer when getting laid.
seven riders
seven riders rode from the mists of time and dreams
seven riders hard upon the heels of a mythology
or at least a place to stand amidst it.
the first was fair and wise and no disguise could hide
the strength she'd won from youth, as proof
she was ready to find herself a niche of Nietzsche.
the second brought sorrow in her arms but her womb
blossomed to the touch of the dreams and prayers
and she sought her own path, fierce and mortal.
the third awoke a sleeping dragon and filled his cup
with his own blood, to flood memory with the emery
that would grind bones smooth when she fled his bed.
the fourth rider had inside her all that was necessary
but her shadow fell to a different path and she parted
moments after she had started, with an honest grief.
the fifth rider stood tall upon the fields in flame and came
to match the myths with all her earthly might, but duty fell
and she withdrew, weeping as she flew away.
the sixth rider was called to arms by the charms of alchemy
that turned sunshine into the ichor of the sun demons
and she barely survived the venom, e'er she withdrew.
the seventh rider screamed loud the call to battle and charged
only to find herself deep in the shell of unsheltered hearts
and she stepped aside, as memories cried for futures cast.
seven riders rode from the mists of time and dreams
seven riders hard upon the heels of a mythology
or at least a place to stand amidst it.

You do not want to know the name he signed to this poem. Really.

Explaining the Tags
You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.
These largely fall into 4 categories:
Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
Genre, e.g. "erotica"
We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
