I know enough not to ask him who this is about, but I think it links in with his recent statements about his brush with the Nosferatu's Dream.
shapeshifter
you have no concept of the black fragment of my soul
that has been torn free, reborn and sworn in enmity
for the brutality it has seen, hot breath and cold teeth,
seeking fresh flesh of those it has found cause against.
behold the shapeshifter, the blood-born predator
wet with androgens and playing pathogen to society,
a sobriety to all but thirst for cursed carnality.
free of moral restraint, held only by the withering hand.

Explaining the Tags
You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.
These largely fall into 4 categories:
Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
Genre, e.g. "erotica"
We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.

2 observations:
This one I will have to give some thought to.
I am not quite sure if it's completely personal or a social statement.
I am leaning toward society. But, oh my it is deep.
Writing is always good if it leads one to question and to think.
Excellent!!
Thanks, Shinade. Sometimes the line between the personal and the societal blurs, as we are social creatures and are part of the tapestry.
We are all malformed by the forces around us, perhaps more so by those that we let in, or that penetrate us, but we must be cognizant of these forces, even if we permit them to engage us.
The emotions and stresses of change and influence are upon us, and we are all shapeshifters to some point, we must fight to be aware of and to adapt to the changes.
Again, thanks.
