I don't know why, but just a bit ago I was taken with a compulsion to post this classic of mine. The first poem of mine ever to be meme'd (it was used by a Buffy the Vampire Slayer piece of fan fiction (fanfic) by an author whose name I have since forgotten.
close your eyes
close your eyes
that you do not see the walls dissolve
beneath the silent tears I shed
as I reach out and brush trembling lips
with trembling lips
that seek to speak a truth I have not words
well made enough to communicate.
but can speak with touch so eloquently.
if you will but close your eyes.

Explaining the Tags
You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.
These largely fall into 4 categories:
Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
Genre, e.g. "erotica"
We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.

How touching. What a beautiful soul you are!
JJ :D
Nice poem. Beautiful, as the other commenter stated.
Thank you, both. I often forget this piece, but it has a following and I see why.
Again, thank you.
