father's day

0 observations

for the day, a taste of sentimentality.

father's day

father's day is filled with the choices
he gets to make and takes on because he loves
the lives he helped bring into the world.
not often viewed as the sentimental choice,
his voice is one that means the world is right
and you can brave the night, from his example.
willing to play the bad cop and call a stop
when the pavement gets a bit too rough and stuff
piles up around the corners we need to clean out
or cut down or haul away because broad shoulders
are always appreciated in our lives.

    Explaining the Tags

You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.

These largely fall into 4 categories:

    Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
    Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
    Genre, e.g. "erotica"

We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
