A portrait of a young, sullen temptress by Russian digital artist Katya inspires this entry into the Fields of Arbol. I am very impressed with the number of extremely competent and inspired digital artists I am dealing with right now. They have attitude, style and a desire to push their tools to the limit. Excellent artists, as exemplified in Katya's
Mademoiselle Juliette
her curiosity
shines out through sullen eyes
practiced in the art of stealing a heart.
or many, with a toss of hair and a pout
or frown or lowered eyelids to imply
you should go with her
and do what she wants.
innocence is her currency
she barters, in counterfeit coin,
to the unsuspecting suitor.
who rarely regrets the exchange.

Explaining the Tags
You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.
These largely fall into 4 categories:
Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
Genre, e.g. "erotica"
We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
