Mariya has done it again, thank you! Another blossom for the Fields of Arbol, another image inspiring me to create that which was not apparent until she gave it vision that I might find voice. This lovely and gifted Ukrainian artist has captured in so much of her works the sacred/sexual dichotomy and conflict that infuses my work so often with pure energy. I am blessed by her presence in my sphere.
death before birth
awake my soul
hatched and patched
matched to future visions
where I have found paths fresh
like grass at the sun's first kiss,
wet with life and faith in memories
yet to be made, but welcome.

Explaining the Tags
You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.
These largely fall into 4 categories:
Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
Genre, e.g. "erotica"
We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
