I will wait for you
though I do not know
the very look of you, or when you will show.
But you live out there
in the light and dark
waiting for the touch that brings forth a spark
that can warm your heart
and heal your pain
that can set you free from a bitter reign.
And I, as well,
need a heroine
someone willing to love a fell champion.
For the scars remain
and my powers fade.
I have no more wish for a fool's parade.
So I'll wait for you
by the water's edge
having fallen hard from near every ledge
in a quest of love
that was nobly meant
but wasted oft
on deceptions and disappointment.

Explaining the Tags
You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.
These largely fall into 4 categories:
Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
Genre, e.g. "erotica"
We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
