My amazing and beautiful friend, photographer Mariya Andriychuk, inspired this work from me the other day by one of her evocative self-portraits, which she is allowing me to post alongside to illustrate. Thus another planting in the Fields of Arbol sprouts...
golden suffering
the silent moments when I am screaming
inside
to be touched and held, felled by my heart.
the sunrise is touching me
places where I would have you touch
but you are not here
and I fear I will love the sun
as it burns me, turns me into light
the golden suffering of needing you
to hold me, gold in your arms,
my body the horizon to your dawn.

Explaining the Tags
You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.
These largely fall into 4 categories:
Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
Genre, e.g. "erotica"
We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
