Inauguration Day 2009

0 observations

========================================
there is not a road we've walked
about which we've not stopped and talked
mistakes we've made with earnest hope
the world with which we must all cope
but we are at the morning
and the light is in our eyes
a new generation is borning
and we register surprise
that we are all still standing
and that we still have a prayer
to accept, with understanding,
we are on a road, just not yet there.

Although an ardent supporter of Hillary Clinton, I was pleasantly surprised by the solid win of Barack Obama's. Let's not consider this an ending, but a beginning of a longer path, but one that is at least, for now, heading in the right direction. My prayers are with the new President.

    Explaining the Tags

You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.

These largely fall into 4 categories:

    Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
    Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
    Genre, e.g. "erotica"

We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
