like a lost soul in a cathedral

0 observations

I should like sometime
sometime
to be there when you wake
and see the skies realize
they have been counterfeiting blue
compared to your eyes.

To watch you stretch
and hear you sigh as light trespasses
across your face
your neck your breasts
and lends warmth to make the morning
more palatable.

I should like sometime
sometime
to see you pad away to find breakfast
even if it is only a casual thing
with no real nutrition
just you, waking, taking time.

You would be so very
so very
beautiful that I would be silent
like a lost soul in a cathedral
and smile to myself at my redemption.

I should like sometime
sometime
to wake up next to you and ask
myself if this is real or if
I died last night and you are my God.

    Explaining the Tags

You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.

These largely fall into 4 categories:

    Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
    Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
    Genre, e.g. "erotica"

We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
