I am reconstituting the band. Be afraid. I know my cats have already gone into hiding. Here's a slice of a lyric we're playing with.
------------------------------------------------------
take me to your temple and leave me at the gates
I'll slide inside, against the pride that challenges the fates.
pressing to the edges, bending to the will,
this time the prime of coward's crime will not lay silent, still.
you think this heat is bittersweet? I'll teach you what is left
when the midnight sun will burn and run from what kindles from the cleft.
fire from desire, sweat without regret,
this steel is real and all you'll feel in pretty, petty pirouette.

Explaining the Tags
You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.
These largely fall into 4 categories:
Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
Genre, e.g. "erotica"
We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
