around the corners and curves
the mind bends and swerves
as we seek to steal a glimpse of the fire.
we see the shadows and glare
as the evidence of the flare
as we seek to steal a glimpse of the fire.
drawn by the warmth and light
we embrace it in the night
as we seek to steal a glimpse of the fire.
a taste of heaven bending
to whisper words to our transcending
as we seek to steal a glimpse of the fire.
even though you are quite distant
feral needs are most persistent
as we seek to steal a glimpse of the fire.

The very talented and beautiful Justyna did a self portrait that absolutely, positively shows nothing any reasonable person could consider indecent, but posed her obviously nude body to that effect. We know she is bare, hair or hand or leg here and there to obscure it...and the effect is interesting. So I had to write her a poem about it.

a glimpse of the fire

Explaining the Tags
You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.
These largely fall into 4 categories:
Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
Genre, e.g. "erotica"
We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
