there was no pretense
every defense fell away as you took me into you.
our merging fleshes metaphor for hearts burning,
yearning, turning to someone to trust before the dust
we become is blown away.
I can still feel your body, as you lay upon me,
exhausted and spent, the fire went to a whiter heat
and the sweetness was no lost on me as I was lost
inside you as you rode me for your pleasure.
I will resound for the rest of my life the sound
of your surrender, the feel of your hips in my hands
as you swallowed me up and centered me within your
last bastion of modest resistance. as you rose and fell
in rhythm with your needs, your impalement a miracle
of my flesh speaking as a proxy for my heart.
and the look in your eyes as you felt me pulse within you,
my release in time with your own, spoke truths
you will never dare to surrender to the air
as you surrendered your body to my hunger
and allowed me to consume you in tender violations.

Explaining the Tags
You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.
These largely fall into 4 categories:
Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
Genre, e.g. "erotica"
We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
