doomed and damned to fall

0 observations

we're on the other side of that wall now.
the other side of that wall.
we've lost what made us special.
we're doomed and damned to fall.

when neighbors can't trust neighbors
and everyone rationalizes
the fear and hate consuming them,
the murder, pain and lies

we're on the other side of that wall now.
the other side of that wall.
we've lost what made us special.
we're doomed and damned to fall.

a beacon, once, of freedom
now locked behind the shame
of what we'd do to muddle through
shallow hallows of our shame.

we're on the other side of that wall now.
the other side of that wall.
we've lost what made us special.
we're doomed and damned to fall.

our leaders? most are feeders
in a trough we fill with greed
over things we never finished
leaving most in need to bleed.

we're on the other side of that wall now.
the other side of that wall.
we've lost what made us special.
we're doomed and damned to fall.

we'd steal and feel it was our right,
bash a fag and wave a flag,
hypocrisy in the land of the free
our birthright, bloody and bright.

we're on the other side of that wall now.
the other side of that wall.
we've lost what made us special.
we're doomed and damned to fall.

    Explaining the Tags

You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.

These largely fall into 4 categories:

    Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
    Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
    Genre, e.g. "erotica"

We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
