would you take me for a villain if I lay with you tonight
and when all was said I fled your bed before the morning light?
would you think me a pretender if your beauty drew me near,
near enough to call your bluff and play upon your fear
of passion unrequited and thirst that's never quenched
and the furious, curious danger of romance when it's wrenched
and tossed aside for the moments to find satiation's rage
when we choose to lose illusion of our inner feral cage
and take glance to dance to touches, to kisses that explore
all the fantasies we can summon, all our passions and yet more
as we find a haven in our hearts, instinctive, yet we know
that there is sooth in soothing truth within our bodies' flow.
would you take me for a villain if I laid with you tonight
and when all was said I fled your bed before the morning light?

Explaining the Tags
You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.
These largely fall into 4 categories:
Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
Genre, e.g. "erotica"
We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
