Dreaming (Alexandra)

1 observations

you dream of love in soft warm grass
that lays against your skin, the sun
a lover, my proxy to your kiss. warm
and supple, like your legs, your arms,
your lips that kiss wind that I would
were me, as you murmur frail passions
to a lover only there in dreams.
dreams that are of my flavour, favouring
the curve of your back, the bend
of your knee, the full and soft texture
of your breasts, pressed into me to hold
me, mold me to your form. the grass
whispers in the warm breeze an envious
sigh and I, I must echo it, too far away
for the touch or kisses or the feel
of those bare legs against my skin
pulling me into ecstasy in a lover's dream.

For this 999th post to this Amomancer blog, I asked my muse Alexandra to choose the poem (I wrote several) that I had written to her self-portrait "dreaming" (above). I agree with her choice.

    Explaining the Tags

You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.

These largely fall into 4 categories:

    Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
    Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
    Genre, e.g. "erotica"

We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
