After a brief war of wills (and knowing he is currently asleep) I managed to wrest from the poet the lyrics for his new song (and yes, world, I would call it singing) "Long Stemmed Jasmin". Not his most eloquent, but hey, the guy is smitten, give him a break...whaddaya want?
Long Stemmed Jasmin
would you cry for
would you die for
some long stemmed Jasmin?
find it in the garden
begging its pardon
I want to pluck it every chance I get
I know I want to pick it
and then I want it stick
far away from all the other hands
I'll find it where it's grown
I'll pluck it for my own
and never let it out of my sight
I want it in the day
I want it all the way
I want it all the night
would you cry for
would you die for
some long stemmed Jasmin?
find it in the garden
begging your pardon
I want to pluck it for my own

Explaining the Tags
You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.
These largely fall into 4 categories:
Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
Genre, e.g. "erotica"
We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
