I think this bit of poetic rumination speaks well for itself. A trifle archaic in language, it is poetry. From 2004.
But rather...
I do not want the light to fail but rather have a perfect view
of all my life and full retain of all those thoughts I ever knew.
I do not want the light to fail but rather keep your memory fast
that I may best secure your joy and ne'er you stroll the paling past.
I do not want the light to fail but rather see what I have heard
and taste each touch without reserve and catch the scent of every word.
I do not want the light to fail but rather show me every stone
along the path I've yet to walk and seek to follow to the bone.

Explaining the Tags
You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.
These largely fall into 4 categories:
Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
Genre, e.g. "erotica"
We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
