From the poet's rather sensational "Pink Jade" collection, written to the muse of the same name, we have this eloquent and gentle romantic overture that reminded us of the dimension of the human heart.
Petition
land warden I would be to the glens of your heart,
where verdant dreams reach with tender prayers
to suckle sunshine and the clouds for sustenance.
grant me right to bend my might to your service,
sheltered not by time or tempest from my duty,
but made fast to the mast of your ship to the stars.
for I am nothing if not champion, proven only when
serving your worthy soul with all the skills and talents
that God and nature and nurture have trusted to me.
I would be your proud and savant servant,
genius in a lamp that never needs more than a word
to summon me forth to do your will, gladly.

Explaining the Tags
You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.
These largely fall into 4 categories:
Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
Genre, e.g. "erotica"
We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
