Was there ever a place I felt so at home as in her arms?
and this is my purpose
there is a dream
that I would share
if given the chance
in answer to prayer
I spoke long ago
in a grim, fading light
to see one last love
to win one last fight
epic equations
balanced the game
kisses for karma
summoned a name
memory won't fail
but still can be surpassed
by greater emotions
when the die is cast
so here I am found
in a place I'd not dreamt
in a grace I'd not earned
and a fate now unbent
your kisses console me
your darkness I bear
as a touch of an angel
to dispel a nightmare
and this is my purpose
and this is my path
to discover the angel
that saved me from wrath
for all of my failings
and the wasting of years
that are washed away gentle
by your love's baptist tears

Explaining the Tags
You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.
These largely fall into 4 categories:
Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
Genre, e.g. "erotica"
We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.

1 observations:
Your magnificence shines with such clarity in this piece.
Are you in a position to include it in the book? Or is it too late?
