Don't ask me, I am just writing it as it comes.
conundrum
the symphony begins, as overture rises.
the wind is hot
and a miracle dances in tongues of flame
as a name fades.
dry mouths chant the curse they purse lips
to let slip away.
where the liars lie
and the bullies strike
and the cowards run
how shall I react to the conundrum?
with pride? pride is for fools
who do not know the value of beauty
and hide behind a facade of arrogance.
with rage? rage is a cage
that traps you and poisons you
until there is nothing left but pain and regret.
with madness? to what end?
could you defend your suit
when mocked by the locking clock of reality?
no.
no.
no.
there is a time for surrender.
and it is now.
so let the winds blow
and the fires burn
and the castle turn to stone and ash.
and I will...
wait.
to be collected.
and hope for the hand I will accept.
and none other.

Explaining the Tags
You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.
These largely fall into 4 categories:
Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
Genre, e.g. "erotica"
We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
