A random thought.
narcissus
I wonder what self-righteous bastard
thought that Narcissus was self-absorbed
for having to deal more with real life
and other people's needs
than their own.
I mean, why does everyone think their shit
is more important than anyone else's shit
that their pain stains deeper
that their id and ego are more crucial
to the survival of life as we know it
than the needs of children and creditors
and even someone they think they love
but just aren't walking the walk,
until they walk away and call the other
person self-absorbed?
Sometimes the reflection in the water
is not who you think it is.

Explaining the Tags
You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.
These largely fall into 4 categories:
Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
Genre, e.g. "erotica"
We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
