Miss me? I'll bet you did (although you don't know me as you well know, I'm new to this title). But. While the poet takes a well-deserved vacation, I am taking over this blog for a time. So let's do this, okay?
This piece is one of those that straddles the mystic and romantic, as the poet turned inward during a relationship crisis in his life. The word "Selah" is a strange one, appearing in the Bible as a sort of musical direction for the recitation of psalms, but with some heavy baggage of its own.
I will pause now to listen
and hope that the plum coloured words
are still ripe and resonant
in the garden where I left them.
"Selah" replies the psalmist
and I am kissed by memory
and I am missing everything
and I must rest
if I am to be strong.
but I am not
for now, and sing madness.
"Selah" replies the psalmist
and I am kissed by memory
and I am missing everything
and I must rest
if I am to be reborn in your arms.

Oh, and for those who care, he is resting, comfortably. He will be fine, because that's what he does.

Explaining the Tags
You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.
These largely fall into 4 categories:
Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
Genre, e.g. "erotica"
We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
