Brought about by a conversation with an old friend (Karla) about addicts as lovers. No, really.
another medium
paint you taint and carve a saint
to make a twisted drama of your karma.
depending on the indefensible bend
of knee or plea you sent to me
to play crutch for another day or such.
and I am not the balsa wood weeping Buddha
you would stick pins in and hang sins on
to buy another chance at dancing lies.
for the music and the memories
eventually turn to genres beyond your ken.
and for all my passion and affection,
I was already standing in the balcony.

Explaining the Tags
You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.
These largely fall into 4 categories:
Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
Genre, e.g. "erotica"
We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
