And yet a third in the Fields of Arbol. This work is inspired by a lovely graphic by the extraordinary Ukrainian artist Katarina Sokolova, whose work also appears (although not this one) on my www.williamfdevault.com site. And we call her...
poison ivy
gossamer and green are my world
with elegance and gentle touch
that draw from me no barbs yet hurled
to be denied a presence such
as gentle as the summer rain
and warming as the sun that smiles
pon me in my tender lair where pain
and strain are left behind for miles.
come with me as I walk this lane
in reveries of mortal need
that draw from me a mem'ried stain
in seeking out the pleasant seed.
and I will kiss the clouds to call
the blessed rains, on me to fall.

Explaining the Tags
You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.
These largely fall into 4 categories:
Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
Genre, e.g. "erotica"
We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
