Selke Cycle 11: the venom of our vices

1 observations

the venom of our vices

I want to crush you to me, like a flower, releasing the vagrant fragrance
that lay hidden so long, too long, as we danced our tentative tarantella,
seeking to purge ourselves of the venom of our vices, throbbing
to be released and captured, purified in moments of wet fire
to be kindled in soft touches, waiting for the moment when eyes close
and the clothes are long discarded, like all attempts at restraint.
paint me with your crimson and I will see your eyes burn when I turn
steel into liquid heat that spreads on bedsheets torn and tangled.

    Explaining the Tags

You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.

These largely fall into 4 categories:

    Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
    Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
    Genre, e.g. "erotica"

We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
