How about if we do our return to innocence from last night's dive into the pleasure of the naked female form with a piece inspired by a very different photo, this one by the divine photographer and model Amanda Johansen, who has already played a part in the refit of williamfdevault.com. The Fields of Arbol contain many and diverse flowers, I think, including now this one...
Like a doll
how like a doll of porcelain
you sit in silent thought, and then,
you speak in soft syllables, wrought
by earnest heart and honest thought.
how beautiful you are is sure
with eyes like melting snowflakes, pure.
you are not, though, some cobbled toy
but live as blossoms, burst with joy.

Explaining the Tags
You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.
These largely fall into 4 categories:
Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
Genre, e.g. "erotica"
We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
