My first rename of the Fields of Arbol is changing the name of a striking photo that caught my eye, not only for the loveliness of the model, the expression on her face and the well-caught eyes, but also the between-the-eyes punch of the use of colour, done by and of Anni Suvi's Diamonds are my best friends to this...
Red, I said
red, I said.
redder than red, red like blood on fire,
painted on lips that communicate desire,
with a slightly, sprightly, mercenary bend.
red, I said.
does she kiss like a devil, to steal souls?
or is she more just here to melt hearts
and leave the scent of brimstone to my end?
red, I said.
let me burn if I must, ashes and dust,
just to see if her heart, her soul, is scarlet
as I suspect, expect, and detect in her smile.
red, I said.
a red I want to touch and feel.
a red I want to taste and let lay waste
to everything I am. at least, for a while.
red, I said.

Explaining the Tags
You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.
These largely fall into 4 categories:
Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
Genre, e.g. "erotica"
We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
