Not quite a Fields of Arbol work, but inspired by a conversation between myself and Cody Gibson, who responded to praise of her work by brushing it off, claiming it was too kind. I despise when people praise or applaud out of reflex, and thus do not like to be accused of such (although I take it good naturedly) and responded with this poem.
sincerity
you ask if my praise is sincere or must you fear
the patronizing pretense of a politic answer, the dancer
saluting a music they do not like or find unclear
the rhythm or theme. but I give you a sworn answer,
that I would rather an earnest fist than a Judas kiss,
and thus will not counterfeit my pleasure, not one wit.

Explaining the Tags
You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.
These largely fall into 4 categories:
Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
Genre, e.g. "erotica"
We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
