across the stars and lovelost

0 observations

the archangels free me, they see me off...
I fear the height but cannot fall when there is no
way down, no concept of ground tempts me to firmness.
I am across the stars and lovelost.

the brass rings sail by at a speed that carves niches
in space, completing the race before starting time...
my planet bitches at the sun...the sun shrivels and
wilts away, it takes the day and slays its accuser.

I crave the touch of earth, any earth...a new birth
awaits me somewhere if I dare to charge it,
dare to enlarge its effect on my destiny.
this freedom is beauty with no truth
at its core...the mask of a whore.

the sunwind rises, the virgin's dawn beckons...
I decline the risk in favor of cowardice. no malice
betrays me. no champion slays me. I am come to
comfort myself, whatever the cost...across the stars
and lovelost.

    Explaining the Tags

You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.

These largely fall into 4 categories:

    Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
    Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
    Genre, e.g. "erotica"

We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
