accents

a vague and slight difference of accent
merely makes the conversation more lively
as we find in each others' words and
emphasis
the opportunity to learn fresh things.
it is a good thing to be different.
not so different that you cannot understand
or be understood by someone you need
so desperately to be able to parse words
and grasp the handles of your moment,
pressing out the oil in trickles of self.
but good to find something new and wonderful.
