Election Day 2008

0 observations

The times, I have heard, are changing.
Prior priorities re-arranging.
Center stage, middle-class rage
and the evil of financial incest, turn the page.
Crack the rage and brave the night,
put up with nothing but put up a fight
and liberate the potential of the people
who are found more places than under a steeple
worshiping the wisdom found in greed
that bleeds our childrens' legacies of need.
Time to shift gears and get off our asses
and rip the illusions from what passes
for freedom in the name of bartered rights.
We have been trusting to the lesser lights
of the mediocrity that is so reassuring,
but we need more than cynical posturing.

    Explaining the Tags

You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.

These largely fall into 4 categories:

    Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
    Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
    Genre, e.g. "erotica"

We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
