There are children in the third world
who won't live to see the dawn
and people who trusted the system
just to see their houses gone
There's a thousand warlords raping truth
(politicians let them by)
We've poisoned our own planet
our sons and daughters will all die

Swallowing the camels
choking back the lies
selling our integrity
we counterfeit the prize

We can't win all the battles
but we need to fight the war
How many lies must we tell ourselves
so we don't feel like history's whores?
Our preachers ride in luxury
because they pass the plate to make
palaces out of malices blessed
so we can propagate each mistake.
